How Can I Get Down and Up from the Floor Without Kneeling?


I'm often asked by students in my yoga classes for ways to get down on the floor without kneeling on the knees. Some have knee injuries and others have had knee replacements. Many of the strategies that they find recommend kneeling on one knee to protect the other knee. Sometimes neither knee is suitable for kneeling which makes it challenging to get down and up from the floor. Here is a strategy that does not require kneeling on the knees. However, it does require some arm strength. I hope this is helpful.
